Civil Rights Coordinators

The Civil Rights Coordinators are designated by the university to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

The university’s civil rights coordinators are located within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Access, Civil Rights & Community.

Meet the University’s Civil Rights Coordinators

Kiara N. Drake
ADA Coordinator

The ADA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the university’s accessibility and compliance efforts in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable laws, in collaboration with campus partners. The ADA Coordinator provides oversight of disability/accessibility-related services and addresses reports of noncompliance, discrimination on the basis of disability, and barriers to access both in physical facilities and in digital/online contexts.

Title VI Coordinator

The Title VI Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Complaints about behavior that may constitute discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of race, color, or national origin, including shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics, are received and addressed by the university’s Title VI Coordinator.

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) and related federal and state laws and regulations, in addition to university policies and procedures.
